neutral  Fr-EnD: Disagree with "flat-tax regime" as a synonym. The distinction between synthetic and schedular has to do with income sources. A synthetic system does not distinguish between sources (e.g. emplt, intrst, cap gain.) "Synthetic tax system" would be OK too.

impôts synthétique et analytique[modifier]
On dit qu'un impôt est synthétique ou analytique selon qu'il prend en compte un élément isolé ou plusieurs éléments et qu’il les taxe globalement.
 Les impôts synthétiques sont ceux qui prennent en compte un ensemble d’éléments pour les taxer de manière globale : par exemple l’ISF ou l’IRPP.
 Les impôts analytiques sont ceux qui ne prennent en compte qu’un élément : par exemple la TIPP.
Un impôt cédulaire est l'agrégat de plusieurs impôts analytiques auquel sont appliqués des taux différents selon leurs natures. Par exemple la contribution sociale généralisée est un impôt cédulaire sur les revenus, appliquant des taux différents pour les salaires, les retraites, les revenus du patrimoine...
