French to English translations [PRO] Law/Patents - Law (general) | | French term or phrase: "Considerant" | | The text refers to "Le « Considérant » n° 18 de la directive" - presumably this means one of the recitals appearing at the head of the legislation. In English these would be headed "Whereas". So should I translate -"The "prior recital" no. 18 of the Directive", or "The "whereas" no. 18"? Does anyone have any more fluent ideas? |
| | | whereas clause | Explanation: I think you need to add the term "clause". You could consider "recital", but it refers to the set of whereas clauses, so I would rather use "whereas clause" in this case |
