French term or phrase:discussion contradictoire
I'm translating a text about proving discrimination. There's some debate about whether the results of "situational testing" can be used as evidence. The French Cassational Court has ruled "Le juge doit en « apprécier la valeur probante après les (les parties) avoir soumis à la discussion contradictoire »"
it's never a bad idea to mention that you already checked the glossary. that way peers know that you may be looking for a different solution. and it avoids "nasty" people suggesting that you check the glossary... ;-)
I had already spent some time looking at the Proz glossary entries for "contradictoires" and knew it was something to do with both parties, and I also did some internet research, but still wasn't certain. I felt it was better to ask and be sure. Help appreciated!
