PS: retrocedere (lat.) means to cede or grant back

from my own business experience of many years, I interprete PROPORTIONATE to mean "in the same proportions" i.e. a given percentage (of royalties) whereas RETROCESSIVE means that the higher the volume, the lower the royalty, in other words "some of the royalty is 'given back' " - retroceded.

-> You obviously know better, since you disagree. In which case I suggest you help the asker with the appropriate better answer or hold your breath which is known to consist of nothing but the old harassment for which you are known so well.

neutral  BusterK: ok for proportionate but I understand retrocession as giving back the full amount received. Why not simply "retrocession royalty" or royalty retroceding the entrance fee ?

proportional (franchise) fees/ retroceding (franchise) fees

Explanation:
franchise fees - redevances de franchisage

redevances de franchisage périodiques n. f. pl.

English: continuing franchise fees

*Définition :
Sommes versées périodiquement par le franchisé en contrepartie du maintien des droits conférés par le contrat de franchisage et des services généraux ou spécifiques que doit fournir le franchiseur pendant la durée de la franchise.

*as per this explanation, royalties can be a form of franchise fee too:

Types of Franchise Fees

A franchise fee may be payable in a lump sum or in installments. The amount of the installment payments may be made to depend on gross receipts or net profits in the form of a royalty, or it may be charged on units of merchandise ordered or sold by the franchisee. Thus, the franchise fee may be contained in the price charged by the franchisor or an affiliate of the franchisor for goods or services supplied to the franchisee or in the rental fee payable by the franchisee for business premises or equipment rented from the franchisor or an affiliate of the franchisor.

my guess is that these are all fees paid regarding opening the franchise, becoming the franchiser, etc - they are proportional maybe to initial investment or profit, or maybe they aren't paid upfront, that's why the retroceding, something like that
