I don't get it. One's identity is one's identity.
Can anyone shed some light on this for me?
Could one (petite ou succincte, perhaps) be referring to specifically their name, while "grande" refers to greater detail (job, civil status, residence, etc.)?
Even if this is the case, to what does the third term refer?

Alain gave you 3 (full, partial and brief), but my research shows it to be more than "identifying" - seems more like in-depth interviews - something between the lineup we see in US cop programs and the recorded in-person interviews in UK police dramas.
At this juncture, I do understand what each terms means, but, like Ann indicates, not sure how to translate the terms. The one answer suggested so far won't work, because I need three distinct terms, not two, in order to distinguish between the three varying levels of completeness of the information required.
Okay, the procedures given to me to translate DO describe in further detail what is meant by these terms (each term refers to identification, as I suspected, with varying degree of detail). All the same, I've never seen such terminology in US proceedings (we have name, or complete identification details, etc.), so, if there is some "official" translation of these terms, I am not aware of it. I could use "succinct ID, brief ID, full ID", or some such terminology, but if there is some "accepted/approved" translation of the terms, I would appreciate an indication thereof.
