I am translating a judgment from a Court in France for a protection order for an 18-year old.
I did find this in the glossary but was unable to locate "to seise the Court of the matter"...so am stuck on this phrase and would appreciate your help.

Asker: I see nothing in your text suggesting an appeal
I still don't think the source text you have quoted mentions an appeal. in "saisine au fond", I understand it as being "au fond" that indicates that the saisine is an application for appeal, as opposed to just an application to the court. Here it is "la saisine sur requête aux fins d'ouverture ...".

Vu = in view of
Explanation: "Vu" is generally translated as "with/having regard to" and it seems to fit here.

As the application in question appears to be the one upon which the ruling is being made, it is unnecessary to say that it has been made to the court. Obviously it has, otherwise the court could hardly be giving a judgement on it.
