Ann, sorry, those are just what's displayed in the IATE text, as links to the sources of the cited text; I don't think they add anything.

Unfortunately the way IATE works precludes posting links to its contents so I copied a relevant sample, but hadn't realised the links which it contained would transfer in broken form.

Or did I miss something? I would certainly think that Valeur d'Achat could be a good possibility, but more information is essential.

As much as anything it's to point out that V needn't be "vache" (you know how people clutch at straws). No particular lead, just thinking "valeur annuelle", "valeur agricole" ...

Even if you do not get a response from the Asker, I would be interested in your train of thought, if V=Valeur. I participate in Kudoz as much to learn as to share what I have learned in 50+years of language study and translation.

Is it a dairy farm? Could V stand for "valeur"? Could you give us the words or sentences that precede and follow?
