Les œufs aphrodisiaques sont vendus par milliers. On utilise à cet effet graisse, foie, cartilage, tête, pattes, carapace, peau des pattes et du cou (*sets*) et œufs.
I cannot find a term definining the turtle's neck and leg skin.
Any ideas as to what this could mean?
Surely it does indeed mean a 'set' of 4 paws (flippers?) + 1 neck — presumably the sort of thing that would perhaps look ghoulishly decorative if kept together.
Lara, I agree and think that there are some typos in that forum posting. If "set" should in fact be "et", than "sont" should be "son": "ses patte set sont cou je suis inquiet"

The term might relate to the eggs, but I just found this on a forum. It uses "patte set".

The way I read it, yes, it would require a comma after 'cou'; I really can't make any sense at all out of 'cou sets' — unless, of course, some kind of scanno is plausible here? It might help to know the quality and provenance of the source document.
Note that this is 'set' in FR, not EN, so it doesn't mean 'sets of eggs' — but I think you'll find 'set' has a special meaning in this scientific context.
