"elle a été embauchée dans notre entreprise en tant qu’Ingénieur pour évoluer vers un poste de Responsable"

Does anybody know what is meant by "pour évoluer vers un poste". I'm just a little confused, does it mean that she will aim for the position of manager?

This is another way of saying it, with more emphasis on the idea of "rising through the ranks based on merit."

The register is a touch informal, though.

Here: "then worked her way up to a management/managerial position."
