Qu’est-ce qu’une technique?

D’une manière générale, une technique, c’est un procédé déterminé et transmissible destiné à produire certains résultats jugés utiles par ceux qui l’emploient. Ce sont l’ensemble des moyens réfléchis ( # hasardeux ) par lesquels on peut atteindre une fin fixée à l’avance. Une fin étant donnée, la technique, c’est l’ensemble des moyens qui permettent de la réaliser.

Cette définition appelle plusieurs remarques.

- Compte tenu de la définition de la technique, il apparaît qu’elle est présente sous de nombreuses formes et dans un grand nombre d’activités qui pour certaines n’ont aucun rapport avec le travail comme activité de transformation de la nature destinée à l’adapter à nos besoins. Ainsi, on peut parler de technique artistique, sportive, médicale, oratoire ou rhétorique, de gestion d’un groupe d’individus, pédagogique, organisationnelle, ...

De sorte qu’il apparaît que si le travail est un fait technique, la technique n’est pas le monopole du travail. Mais, par ailleurs, certaines techniques, celles de gestion des ressources naturelles, de gestion du personnel, d’organisation au sein d’une entreprise, si elles ne servent pas le processus de production de valeurs d’usage, sont liées au travail en ce qu’elles ont le travail pour objet.
