bonding primer/keying primer Explanation: Primaire does also mean primer as well as primeur (eg. primaire époxy = epoxy primer from Gorsau dictionnaire scientifique et technique) the d'adhérence bit is trickier. In terms of verbs, you talk about priming or keying a surface in preparation for application of a substance in order for it to adhere better.
