French term or phrase: Ceq
Les impositions particulières suivant les exigences du client (impact test, dureté,
traction à chaud, etc...) doivent être indiquées sur le certificat, (Ceq, Pren, etc ...) si
requis par le contrat ,..."

This a part of a procedure outline for the verification of materials certificates.
Everything makes perfect sense apart from the (Ceq, Pren, etc...) bit. I can't work out whether Ceq (and Pren!) are acronyms and should be capitalised or whether they are words in their own right.
Any help much appreciated.

desertfox: 1:48pm Mar 5, 2008: Is this text related to Canadian French by any chance?
Euqinimod: 1:49pm Mar 5, 2008: May be "Pren" stands for "Pitting resistance equivalent number". As for Ceq, it could be a typo for "leq", i. e. "equivalent continuous sound level" and measuring the level of sound exposure.
Victoria Burns: 1:52pm Mar 5, 2008: @ desertfox - Hi there. No, it is actually a French company and as far as I can tell there are no overseas branches.
Victoria Burns: 1:53pm Mar 5, 2008: @Euqinimod - Thanks for your contributions. I think you might be onto something with the 'Pren' bit (this part of the document is about checking quality and various properties of incoming materials). Not sure about the 'leq' bit though - there doesn't seem to be anything to do with sound levels in the text at all. Thanks again!

Bourth: 3:19pm Mar 5, 2008: Leave as is: Carbon equivalent and Pitting Resistance Equivalent Number. The other terms in parentheses suggest you are dealing with metal and/or welding, so these make sense.

neutral askell: my doubt is that Pren as wall as Ceq are related to tests on material compatibility
