French term or phrase: multi-locale
"Lancement d'une marque a la fois internationale
et multi-locale." Does "multi-locale" mean separate launches in each country? And what is a good term for this? Would "country-specific" work?

Thanks, Karen

Explanation:
I think you're making it too hard! Why not just *multi-location*? Otherwise, you're reading meaning into the translation that doen't exist in the original. It looks like the brand is being launched at a number of places/locations/sites at once, within at least some of the countries. [BTW, the phrasing is tentative, as I don't have the larger context]

English loves those hyphenated "multi" terms just as much as French does. I found 7,090 hits on Alta-Vista for "Multi-location", and 3,582 for +multi-location+business (to make sure I took out a lot of the software-related stuff that was showing up for just plain multi-location).

Here's an example:

Multi-Location Warehousing. Overview. The Multi-Location module gives you firm tight control over your stock where your business maintains stock at...

Thanks for your thorough answer and Web search, Yolanda. And I stand accused of making it too hard; my husband always tells me I "overcomplexify!" Karen
