This is from a brochure about moving sidewalks:
"La mise en place de X (brand name) peripheriques au depart des principales stations de transports en commun desservant les grand centres urbains, favorise l'augmentation de l'achalandage." There's also a picture of 4 moving sidewalks in the shape of a cross and around each portion of sidewalk is a circle. The circles intersect to form a flower pattern. I know what peripherique means but I don't know what term to use in this context. Thanks!

Explanation:
"peripherique", according to your description, is manifestly an unfortunate word choice in French as something that departs from the centre is by definition not peripheral. So you may consider not to translate it at all as you will induce the same erroneous notion in the English text. If you do like peripheral try: sidewalks, connecting places/sites peripheral to ....stations. hope it helped.

Thank you for confirming what I was thinking myself! I believe they are using the term "peripherique" to get across the idea that the moving sidewalks can get you to the peripheries of the city center because they go in 4 directions and make the peripheries accessible. To illustrate that point, they drew circles around the sidewalks. Thanks also to everyone else who provided suggestions. Karen

Explanation:
The Peripherique around Paris is a road that, if I understand well (someone correct me if I am wrong), circles all around the city. It is called "ring road" in English. For instance, there is a ring road in Oxford. From those roads, you can access all the others and have access to any area of the city. I suggest that, in the same vein, you translate a sidewalk that is "peripherique" as ring walk.
