French term or phrase: transversalite
I've done extensive research on this but am still not sure how to translate it. The one posibility I found is "horizontal diversification" but I'm not sure that's the right term. This comes from a focus group report about a seafood company: "Qu'apporte la transversalite de la marque sur le marche des produits de la mer: 1) verifier si la transversalite de (name of company) est un atout et ce qu'elle apporte aux consommateurs; 2) ce que la transversalite apporte a la marque et a la gamme, notamment par rapport aux autres marques que vous connaissez et que vous achetez." Thanks, Karen
that's a good way to put it commercially (horizontal diversification)
But I've found it as a buzz word in intellectual circles for "interpenetration", "interdisciplinary", "interaction between disparate poles", etc. Seeing it from above, it could look like a kind of omnipresence, but there's really a lot that you can do with that one. Congrats!

Thanks for the confirmation! My businessman husband suggested "horizontal product diversification" to distinguish it from the type of diversification that involves acquiring companies. Karen
