French to English translations [PRO]
Marketing - Marketing / Market Research
French term or phrase: PRA
From a power point on a company's marketing campaign. Company manages various supermarket brands. This section is taking about supermarket loyalty cards.

"Cible secondaire : l’ensemble des PRA âgées de 25 ans et + résidant dans les zones de chalandise de l’enseigne"

Underneath this sentence there is also a table where all the columns along the top are labelled "PRA 18-24" "PRA 25-34" up to age 55+, and the table shows the percentages of customers at different supermarkets who belong to these age groups. But does "PRA" just mean "age group" or something else?

neutral  Tony M: Whilst hardly qualified to actually 'agree', I just wanted to point out that the use in the plural « des PRA » does sort of lend itself to this interpretation; what then would be the translation in EN?

projected retail audience

Explanation:
Something of a guess, but I think this is what your text is getting at (given the context of how PRA is used here). Marketing texts often borrow English abbreviations.
I think this is new(ish) way of discussing what is traditionally called the target audience. See p4 of link provided.

Yes, Tony M's note is quite right to draw attention to the use of 'des'. If this is correct (my experience of working with marketing texts is that they are often hastily written and full of typos) then my suggestion (guess) is probably incorrect.

Mind you, how can the text be talking about the Purchasing Decision Maker? It seems to be talking about target customers for the stores loyalty card. The Purchasing Decision Maker is a member of staff. So I don't think this common meaning of PRA applies here.

Actually, I agree with the first answer myself now! I was not familiar with the usage of PRA outside of a company context. Here is another link, which wraps everything up nicely.
