French to English translations [PRO] Science - Materials (Plastics, Ceramics, etc.) | | French term or phrase: dépendance des phénomènes de passivation | I actually need help with the entire phrase (phrase between asterisks below). I understand each word individually, but am having trouble understanding the phrase due to the way it is structured. This comes from a call for proposals. I don't specialize in science but I am doing a description of the partner organizations that is less scientific than the rest of the document. Any thoughts on what it means? I don't need a full translation, but just some help deciphering it!
Thanks in advance. Karen
Les débouchés concernent principalement les matériaux et l’interface physique-biologie, qui se développe fortement. Quelques résultats marquants concernant les matériaux sont : l'étude non destructive de la prise et de la microstructure du plâtre et des ciments ; **la mise en évidence d’une grande dépendance des phénomènes de passivation SESAME des catalyseurs de leur morphologie**... " SESAME stands for Selective Extraction and Separation of Americium by Means of Electrolysis. |

| | evidence of a close relationship between passivation behaviour of catalysts and their morphology | Explanation: See ref. click on PDF and see particularly page A8
I assume it become SESAME passivation behaviour, but not enough character space in answer.
Also haven't found the actual combination of terms "SESAME passivation"

| Grading comment This was the only phrase keeping me from sending in the job so I really appreciate your help - and on a Sunday, no less! I just could not make sense of the sentence due to the way it was worded. So thanks very much. 4 KudoZ points were awarded for this answer |
