French to English translations [PRO] Tech/Engineering - Materials (Plastics, Ceramics, etc.)
French term or phrase:carton bouilli
I know this is not papier mache, but I do have not found any references to it in English apart from one text which is about Marie-Antoinette., which makes me think it is a translation ( I am talking when you google it) Is there a more technical term for this substance. Any artists out there?
Here is the description:
les fauteuils en carton bouilli de sa salle à manger sont une torture pour le dos.
Explanation: I used to have a suitcase made of what the French call "carton bouilli". As far as I know this is usually called "pressed cardboard" in English.
