French term or phrase: à cinq dixièmes près
5/10 ? should I specify what even though nothing is written?

La société s’engage à un positionnement précis à cinq dixièmes près

(les positions de chaque ensemble acoustique sont des paramètres importants)

thanks to all :-)

Clarification request(s) and response
Bourth: 7:51am Aug 16, 2006: Do they not specify units somewhere close nearby. Like decibels, maybe? (though I can't see the connection with a shot peening machine).
Rita Heller: 7:57am Aug 16, 2006: Hi Bourth and Yakov, some measurements (i.e. tolerance) are given in mm, but not close by to this paragraph. Thanks for your help.
Bourth: 8:14am Aug 16, 2006: I WAS going to say that in my experience, in my fields, "10èmes" usually refers to 10ths of a millimetre ... But I still don't see the connection between "positionnement", "acoustique", and your machine ...
Terry Richards: 2:30pm Aug 16, 2006: Is this an ultrasonic shot peening machine? I suspect it is...
Rita Heller: 2:35pm Aug 16, 2006: Yes, Terry, it is ultrasonic. Thanks.
I decided to use Yakov's idea but I appreciate everyone's help.
Terry Richards: 2:44pm Aug 16, 2006: Bourth was on the right track - it's 1/10 millimeters. If there's multiple ultrasonic transducers they need to be accurately positioned or they will be out of phase with each other and the shot won't shoot :) BTW 5/10 = 20 thou.
Bourth: 3:02pm Aug 16, 2006: I'm glad I came! Had never encountered US shot peening.
Rita Heller: 3:08pm Aug 16, 2006: :-) Neither had I! For the record, it is "grenaillage" en français. Never bored in this profession.

Thanks to everyone - of course these are very precise calculations - but the method is not part of the translation. This keeps the same level of information.
