French term or phrase: liaison canon-corps
"Au terme d’un bilan technique, X a diagnostiqué un dysfonctionnement sur environ 10% des interrupteurs fournis (fragilité au niveau de la liaison canon-corps), l’effort de déverrouillage de l’interrupteur suffisant dans certains cas à briser la liaison canon-corps."

Mostly I'm having trouble with 'canon' because it's clearly not a gun. Could it be the nose?

has many translations for canon - on its own and with other words-but not canon-corps!. They may not be relevant but it might be worth a look as there are lots of possibilities. I was going to copy them all here but then thought it would probably be more useful for you to see them on the site - If you've got Time! Some examples:
barrel, air outlet, shank, rod-the last was in the metallurgy section
