Explanation: I had this in the discussion section, but am giving it as an answer, based on what I found on google in patent descriptions of mechanical mechanisms (not for steering columns, but the mechanism may be found in other places):
"Anti-translation" is used in English in a description of a downhole assembly device here:
17. The apparatus of claim 15 wherein the first interlocking mechanism includes an anti-translation mechanism reacting against an anti-rotation mechanism of the second interlocking mechanism.
Another patent using ''anti-translation" here:

about patents is that you can get away with strangling the language under the pretext of clarity. If this is indeed a patent description, then you could easily get away with "anti-translation". Having written a few, I was always a bit shocked at the results of the patent agent's translation of what I thought was straightforward English into patentese. It's English, Jim, but not as we know it...

of an anti-translation ring. It was probably what a former boss was wearing when he said 'why do we need translators? We have Google'. But he was (and probably still is) an illiterate engineer.
Here, however, it may be best to sidestep the idea of translation and just go for "locking ring", or some such, or the longer "rings/bushes to prevent lateral movement".
