forging - A production method in which [...] material [...] is shaped to a desired form [...] by compression forces or sharp hammerlike blows. [...] Forging below the melt temperature is called cold forging; with plastics it can also be called cold forming or solid-phase pressure forming. When worked above the melt temperature, it is said to be hot forging or hot forming. [...]

So, depending on context, the more general forming may also be appropriate. It's your call.
