Web guide rollers

in printing from a roll of paper, as opposed to cut-sheet, the band of paper is called a web. Just a suggestion.

Asker: Thank you but I need to add abrasive as per context .Thank you so much for your idea.

neutral  Tony M: But looking at Asker's image, this doesn't seem to be about a 'web' of paper at all, and in any case, 'toile' isn't the word we use in FR for 'web' / I didn't misread, but 'web' is very specific to the paper industry / Ah, that's 'webbing', quite diff.!

disagree  Tony M: This is clearly some kind of guide roller, so even if it did happen to be part of a PCB, this wouldn't be the translation needed here.

disagree  Cetacea: The source text clearly refers to some type of guide roller.

rouleau guide toile
mat guide roller

I feel sure it is a 'guide roller', but the trouble is, you don't give us enough context to know what this highly ambiguous 'toile' might be?

I have a hunch that it might be glass-fibre matting of some kind, so if that is the case, then 'mat' could be what you need; otherwise, you'll have to tell us more about your context so we can figure out just what this toile is, / what it is being used for?

OK, now we know from the context in your other question that this appears to be something like 'toile émeri' (it mentions abrasif')

Note added at 23 hrs (2012-12-24 23:25:59 GMT)

Maybe play safe and just stay with 'strip guide roller' — it really all depends how you have decided to translate 'toile (abrasive)' elsewhere in your text.
