Tech/Engineering - Mechanics / Mech Engineering / Machine elements | | French term or phrase: aluminium éloxé | It is in a list if titles so no more context.
It is something the elements of the "poteaux/rails" of a large machine are made from.

The word, if it is indeed an English word, is new to me. What strikes me is that the word "eloxerad" appears to be Swedish for "anodized". Now, anodizing refers to the coating of aluminium with a protective oxide; and "ox" features strongly in "eloxerad".
However, I could not swear that "eloxed" is NOT an English word and that the Swedes did not base their new word "eloxerad" on it, but I strongly, very strongly suspect that any use of "eloxed" in English is ignorant/thoughtless perpetuation of a Scandinenglish error.

Don´t have any details for now, just thought of it, but if I can cut the spacers in half and have a decent ride then there would be sufficient room for a threaded cylinder to act directly on the spring instead. (with o-rings to make it leakproof of course) and handoperated knobs on top of the forkplugs if the resistans is´nt to tough, stainless is easy to polish and durable, aluminium can be ELOXED (THAT THE RIGHT WORD?)

What is anodizing if it is not ELectric OXide coating!!!
That said, maybe Eloxing refers to “Anodicaly Inactivated Aluminium”, though I suspect that is just a fancy way of saying “anodized”, since the anodic (anodized) coating prevents the otherwise mill-finish aluminium from reacting with air to oxidize naturally, i.e. anodizing makes the aluminium inactive!!
