il est difficile de comprendre ce qu'a voulu exprimer l'auteur - jargon du secteur de la communication peut-être ? Les exemples trouvés par Stéphanie et moi-même montrent que l'expression peut avoir des sens très différents. En lisant les interv de S. j'ai pensé à presse TV, presse réseaux... Les possibilités sont infinies !
Je pense vraiment que vous devriez consulter votre client si possible, puisqu'aucun collègue ici ne semble avoir de certitude quant à ce terme , que ce soit en anglais ou en français (franglais). Et compte tenu de la fréquence des mots anglais employés en français avec un sens légèrement ou complétement différent de leur sens originel, je suis d'acc avec vous pour ne pas l'intégrer tel quel au texte cible.
but in response to latest comments: I am perfectly aware that the text is full of anglicisms, and that this is just one of them, but to me, this word has absolutely no meaning in this context. That could be because the writer is misusing it, or it could be because it has some meaning in French that it does not have in English. Or it could have a meaning in English that I am simply unaware of. I'd be really grateful if those people who think that "channel" is the correct term in English (in this context!) could enlighten me as to what it actually means. Thanks!
I guess it is fairly obvious that "channel" is the English word "channel" (!), but I am still puzzled as to what the writer actually means by using this term. To me, in English, to talk of "channel press" means nothing at all - though that may just be my ignorance... Aude and Stéphanie's references (for which: thanks!) are interesting, but I am still very unsure. I would certainly hestitate to replicate the word without having a better idea of what it is intended to mean...
d'accord avec toi writeaway, mais le pb me semble-t-il est que la liste comporte aussi 'TV'. J'ai essayé de trouver la signification de 'channel' en français (ou plutôt frangalis en effet) ds domaine de la communication, voir la case 'références'. Mais aucune certitude...
