Hello

I would be grateful for some help regarding a piece of equipment firefighters use to get people out of vehicles, following an accident.

Here is the context:

La voiture avait capoté a l'angle des autoroutes 25 et 400. L'automobile s'est empalée sur le garde-fou, sans toutefois blesser l'homme que se trouvait derrière le volant. Par contre, il a subi d'importantes blessures aux jambes qui sont restées coincées. Les pompiers on du utiliser des pinces de sécurité pour tailler la voiture et décoincer la victime...

Tel que le texte est écrit, il s'agit en fait moins de pinces "de sécurité", que de pinces de "désincarcération" ("extrication" in English) - puisque leur usage a été nécessaire pour extraire la victime du véhicule: "jaws of life" in English.
