Medical - Medical: Cardiology / Echocardiography
French term or phrase: VAo (I,D)
Calling on physicians /cardiologists.

Report is from Province du Québec. These are Doppler readings:

Grad. max. VAo: 23 mm Hg
Grad. Moy. VAo: 14 mm Hg
Surf. VAo (I,D): 1.1 cm2

I thought the first 2 were the measurements of max. and mean pressure gradients of "VAo" . (Vitesse? ventricule? aorte? aorte ascendante?
But I do not understand the "surface VAo (I,D)"

TIA

-> thanks Michael - any idea about the (I,D) bit?

agree  Angela Dickson: this came up in something I was doing yesterday - planimetry vs continuity? Don't see how it fits, though.

-> hi Angela - yes, those are the two methods - continuity = indirect, planimetry = direct method - but I've never seen (I,D) used before - and there is only one value

Aortic-valve

Explanation:
Grad. max. VAo: 23 mm Hg = peak gradient in aortic valve
Grad. Moy. VAo: 14 mm Hg = mean gradient in aortic valve
Surf. VAo (I,D): 1.1 cm2 = Aortic-valve area. in this case the patient has to be operated
