French to English translations [PRO] Medical - Medical: Dentistry / invoice | | French term or phrase: montage et finition de stéllite | | In an invoice for dental treatment: "montage et finition de stéllite 4 dents". "Stéllite" seems to be a porcelain bonding alloy, and this item seems to refer to some sort of porcelain bonding and finishing. But although the term "stellite" exists in English, it doesn't seem to be used much in dental contexts, at least judging by Google hits. So I'm wondering if anyone knows how this item would normally be described in the English-speaking dental world. Any informed guidance gratefully received. TIA. |
| | Clarification request(s) and responseScott Alexander: 3:40am Nov 27, 2007: "Stellite" does exist in English in dental contexts (but it's used in a lot of other contexts as well). To see the dental contexts, you can narrow your google search: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=stellite+dental&btnG=Se... Scott Alexander: 3:46am Nov 27, 2007: I'd like to just say "mounting and finishing of stellite" here, which is probably what you were thinking too -- but I can't find any examples so I won't post a formal answer! (Also, I'm not a dentist! :-)
