French term or phrase: cardiolipines
I know that this can mean cardiolipins, but the translation given in the GDT was 'anti-cardiolipin antibodies'. This may not be correct, but I would appreciate it if you could confirm that it should be translated as 'cardiolipins' rather than 'anti-cardiolipin antibodies' in the followind context:
'realiser un bilan immunologique plus extensif comprenant le facteur anti-nucleaire, un profil du complement, les anticorps antiphospholipides et ***cardiolipines***.'

anti-cardiolipin antibodies
Explanation:
this would make sense in an immunology context. Testing is for antibodies to cardiolipin rather than for the substance itself, and the French is being elliptical here.

This ref shows that both 'cardiolipin' and 'anticardiolipin' are used, but the latter is more common by far in English.

Asker: Thank you very much, Angela. I think it is probably preferable in English to specify, anti-cardiolipin antibodies, for clarity. The reference you give is very interesting.
