French to English translations [PRO] Medical - Medical: Health Care / laboratoire de biochimie | | French term or phrase: biochimie générale et chimie spéciale | These terms appear on a certificate of participation in a quality assurance program in Canada:
"Le laboratoire de biochimie XYZ a participé au programme d'assurance qualité en biochimie dans la ou les discipline(s) suivante(s): marqueurs cardiaques (sérum), biochimie générale, chimie spéciale, endocrinology, hémoglobine glyquée, lipides, marqueurs tumoraux, médicaments, sédiment urinaire, troponine/myoglobine (sérum)."
My question is about the terms "biochimie générale" and "chimie speciale." I found "chemical pathology" for "biochimie" in Eurodicautom, but also "biochemistry." I'm thinking that "general chemical pathology" is more likely to be correct for this context, and perhaps "special chemical pathology" for the second term. Can any medical experts confirm these or offer another solution? Thanks in advance! Target language is US EN. |

Special Chemistry (or similar term) is for specialized tests as opposed to the most common general tests on the main instruments.
