This is describing the procedure for processing resin in a synthesizer. Could it be a typo? It appears exactly like this in a pdf of the company manual.

agree  savtrad: I think it must be something along these lines - there are enough hits for "Fmoc" (although not "DeFmoc"!) in relation to peptide synthesis to make this likely.

I see it is to do with pharmaceuticals - well asbestos wouldn't be involved then!

How about just "scraping off"
