French to English translations [PRO] Medical - Medical: Health Care / Hospital area
French term or phrase:CB
Hello! The document I'm translating includes reports of practices asked by one area of the hospital to others, identified in the respective forms by an acronym. One of these areas is ORL (Oto-rhino-laryngologie), which I translated as ENT (ear, nose, throat, adding the alternative "otolaryngology" in a footnote). So far so good; now, in one of the forms, ORL is preceded be CB. For what I could find out, different hospital areas seem to have their CB, so I figure it might be something like "chef du bureau", that could be translated as "head of department", but I couldn't confirm it so far. I'd need someone familiar with French hospitals organization who could confirm this or let me know what it actually means, and suggest a translation. Thanks in advance,
Guillermo
Sincèrement je n'ai rien à proposer mais "chef de bureau ORL" n'a aucun sens et en tous cas un "chef de bureau" n'est pas un "chef de service", encore moins un "dept. head".
Reference information: You need to provide as much context as possible in French which would enable people to research this,.....unless somebody knows this off the top of their head (a rare event IMHO).
