French to English translations [PRO] Medical - Medical: Health Care / Clinical study protocol
French term or phrase:circuit
In the clinical study protocol that I am translating (FR > EN-US), I've come across the word "circuit" twice and it has stumped me both times... Should this be "procurement" in both cases?
- le circuit des dispositifs (medicaux)
- le circuit des cahiers d'observations
Explanation: It's one of those heart-sink words for me too and I've never been 100% happy with translations I've used for it in the trial context. My understanding is that the "circuit" for medical devices (which I suppose is your study treatment) is about their supply chain - where they are delivered to and held until use, so it could be translated as logistics.
For the CRF I'd suggest CRF collection, as it usually refers to what happens to them after they have been completed.
is great, I believe. I said "ongoing location", but that's what I was trying to say. I would have never thought of "logistics", though. I was going to propose something like "delivery route", but I couldn't because I'm not a PROZ member. Perhaps, "logistics" is ideal here.

I think it means "ongoing location" (to track their whereabouts). It seems more like an all-purpose word in French. It may be that the exact same word won't work in every sentence in English. You may have to adapt accordingly, although the general meaning won't change.

Explanation: Perhaps a circumsphere, which englobes all neccessary tools, equipment, facilities and staff required for the purpose (instruments, drugs, medication, etc.). That's why Im am tinking to subject, scope, area or similar.
