'Le patient a beneficie d'und ETO retrouvant un FOP-ASIA. Dans la nuit du ...., le patient a presente un episode de douleurs thoraciques avec sensation de tachy cardie. Il a eu un bilan avec ECG troponines qui etait normal.'

Explanation:
Le foramen ovale perméable (FOP ou PFO des anglo-saxons) n'est pas de découverte récente mais il suscite un nombre considérable de travaux depuis que l'on a mis en évidence un lien entre la présence d'un FOP et certains accidents vasculaires cérébraux (AVC) ischémiques.

What is a PFO?

A patent foramen ovale (PFO) is a defect in the septum (wall) between the two upper (atrial) chambers of the heart. Specifically, the defect is an incomplete closure of the atrial septum that results in the creation of a flap or a valve-like opening in the atrial septal wall (see illustration). A PFO is present in everyone before birth but seals shut in about 80% of people.
