Thanks for your input - although I didn't use your exact term in the end but you did set me on the right track. I ended up using Vertical Steriliser as I found a definition in French for Banaliseur which equated to the same thing as an autoclave (steam steriliser for infectious waste) and as the term autoclave was already mentioned in the text in brackets, I decided to differentiate by using the word "steriliser" 2 KudoZ points were awarded for this answer
