French to English translations [PRO] Tech/Engineering - Medical: Instruments
French term or phrase:pelage
Hi,
For example:
Document de contrôle réception des coques et opercules avec critères dimensionnels, essais de positionnement, de scellage et de pelage.
Contrôle visuel avant pelage
Contrôle visuel après pelage
I wonder if anyone can pinpoint the right translation of this term for me. It relates to this subject, which was another text for the same client. http://www.proz.com/kudoz/french_to_english/medical:_instrum...
The device (a bladder sling) is packaged with the blister and then the lidding material, then 'pelage' is a further step. It might be removal from the machine? I can't find anything sensible to give me enough confidence about it.

I previously worked at the medical device company, so I didn't need much context this time, but when the ProZ query is taken from a patient's medical report, I'm the first one to ask for more context!
I'm happy for that but I still do not understand what you are talking about.
Again, the most important is that you got the proper translation, even though, I doubt :)
Hi Lionel, the context I gave was pretty detailed. SJLD has given the correct answer. It is peeling open the sealed packages. That makes complete sense in my context.
That is so obvious. It didn't even cross my mind. I was thinking about the machine and heat seal and what they might be doing to test the plastic. Makes complete sense. Thank you, SJLD!

peeling
Explanation: Hi Karen,
I'm pretty sure this is actually referring to opening the pack.
