No need to compromise; we are dealing with "government cost-cutting measures" as stated in the source text and this is the explicit term used by SPILF, HAS, DGS, InVS in a document soon to be published called "Saving antibiotics".

Thank you all for responding so promptly, and on such a cutting-edge term. If I get any lowdown from the end-client, I shall amend the glossary accordingly.

In any case "good practice" is the standard translation of "bon usage".

neutral  writeaway: wow-where is your first answer?? this one looks just like the one above /sorry I thought you originally answered something totally different than good practice guidelines. You had agrees as well. Kudoz is a real mystery, that's for sure.
8 hrs
-> Read the above and the asker's note, it is all explained.

neutral  Tony M: Even though your amended answer is better, the addition of 'for drug prescription' amounts to over-translation of the source term as given.
12 hrs
-> Sorry to totally disagree with you on that issue after having discussed it with the head of ID and showing him this very question including the source text.
