French to English translations [PRO]
Medical - Medical: Pharmaceuticals
French term or phrase: Dosage
I am in the process of translating a series of validation protocols and reports for various assay methods and am getting somewhat muddled by the use of the word "dosage".

I'd really appreciate any suggestions as to how you'd translate "dosage" or "à doser" in the examples below because I am starting to doubt myself!

Thanks in advance...

doser
verbe transitif

Fixer ou mesurer la dose d'un médicament qui doit être administré au malade.
Préparer un mélange dans les proportions convenables en réglant la quantité de chaque élément : Doser les assaisonnements.
Mesurer quelque chose en quantité juste nécessaire, avec parcimonie : Doser les rations.
Proportionner quelque chose de façon convenable : Savoir doser ses forces.
Procéder au dosage d'une substance, d'un vin.

p.s.

I agree, this word is a nightmare to translate, it never seems to mean the same thing in English!

measurement or dosage

Explanation:
Adrenaline in this context is a drug.
You can use "dosage" in English.
For "à doser" you can use " (to be) measured".

agree  Karen Tkaczyk: Wasn't paying enough attention. Should just have agreed with your answer. To your Q, yes. Anything conveying measured/determined/assayed works fine. I wouldn't both with quantitative. That's implied.

Explanation:
I'm sure there must be lots of past KudoZ questions on 'dosage'. 'Determinations' works too sometimes.

disagree  Cetacea: which would be wrong: "dosage" is very precise, nothing to do with estimation.
