However, with regard to the second term, if your context is UK, then such departments of hospitals are much more commnly referred to (nowadays) in one of the above ways. In the past, such department/units were referred to as "Casualty" although this term would now appear to apply for less serious injury. See the following for confirmation. That said, passing refernce is made to "department" once the term AEU has been applied and "depratment" is used in one case, altho' the websearch showed this to be used less often in the UK.
