Medical - Medical (general) / physical examination | | French term or phrase: *OEP* or *QEP*?? | I am resubmitting this question because I have found the abbreviation again in the physical examination of the next patient.
Patient 1) ORL : OEP normales.
Patient 2) Fond d'oeil : normal. EEG : normal. OEP normales a droit, a controler a gauche.
Does anyone know what **OEP** or alternatively **QEP** stands for?

OEP
11 s'agit d'une méthode fiable, rapide, non invasive d'exploration de la cochlée ne nécessitant ni le concours de l'enfant, ni une sédation. L'examen permet de tester séparément les deux oreilles. Elles n'ont de valeur que si elles sont présentes.
Elles permettront d affirmer la normalité de la cochlée et du système tympano - ossiculaire. L'absence peut être due à une surdité de perception de transmission ou de mauvaises conditions d'examens(pleurs, agitations, respiration).
En cas d'absence, on ré-effectue le test ; si la réponse reste négative, des PEA sont enregistrés.
Les potentiels évoqués auditifs PEA
11 s'agit d'un examen long (45 mn) nécessitant souvent une sédation importante de l'enfant.
Ils permettent d'apprécier la maturation des voies auditifs (qui se font progressivement jusqu'à 2 ans..) ,le seuil auditif mais uniquement sur les fréquences aiguës 2000 à 4000 Hz oreille par oreille.
