For info, one kudoz entry (which i can no longer find!) suggests that it's debridement but I wanted to check

Need more context, preferably the paragraph, to be more sure but would make good sense for surgical debridement or cleaning out of infected bony area of the vertebral bone, to be followed by appropriate antibiotic treatment. Debridement is therefore the closest term for describing the surgical procedure.
