Merci pr toutes vos riches contributions. Le choix n'a pas été facile mais je penche pour cette solution puisqu'il est question d'un service de chirurgie avec salle septique et salle de stérilisation.

L'asker est au Cameroun où, autant que je sache, les hôpitaux sont construits sur le modèle français, de même que nombre de médecins sont formés en France. Il parait même qu’ils parlent français!!!...
Le texte est français et correspond au "set up" de tous les hôpitaux français avec salles septiques et aseptiques….
Sincèrement, penses-tu que la pièce dédiée à l'élimination de déchets biologiques corresponde dans un set up FR à une salle sceptique où, en France, on met les patients ?
Raison pour laquelle, je pense qu’il est important de traduire en EN un set-up FR et, quoi de plus évident, que de traduire "salle septique" par "septique room" ????.
S’il existe une traduction plus appropriée en Anglais, je ne me permets pas de la contester n'étant pas de langue mère anglaise, mais sincèrement, expliquer qu'une salle sceptique en français, devient une salle pour déchets biologiques me semble assez comique.

Il serait peut-être nécessaire de traduire ici en sachant comment fonctionne un hopital en France, non en Angleterre, et surtout se demander si che l'on nomme une salle septique dans une structure française correspond à la "pièce déchets biologiques" !

Je résume en extrayant un "morceau":

Donc une salle septique ou aseptique est une chose; un "dirty utility room" c'est en fait le lieu où l'on porte les déchets ospitaliers.

J'ai du mal a penser qu'en Angleterre, dans une maternité, une patiente soit portée dans la "dirty utility room".
Je pense vraiment que nous arrivons au comique ici.

Do not agree on sterilising room: sterilization / sterilisation room is much more common. Just google it.

the problem here is that the French is not very explicit and "septic room" or "area" can refer to either a "dirty utility room" (which, incidentally, is not a "local poubelle"), or an operating theatre only used for treating septic disorders (opening up of an abcess for instance).However, this is more frequently referred to as "bloc septique".
If I were you, I would ask the client for more details or insert a footnote mentioning the two possible translations.

Tony M: Yes, it's that 'septic procedures' that makes all the difference! And I think that 'salle' is best rendered as 'theatre', unless there is some specific indication to the contrary.
