Merci pr toutes vos riches contributions.

agree  Lionel_M: Hi Colin, I asked mod to remove my "long" note, so all the answer went lost. No problem ! Of course I agree. Just "sterilization" IMHO for the second question.

neutral  Tony M: I have the gravest doubts; this term would be perfectly valid in FR, but liable to be misconstrued in EN; and it certainly isn't a term that was used in the major University Hospital where I worked for some 5 years in the early '90s

bloc septique
operating theatre dedicated to septic procedures

Explanation:
the problem here is that the French is not very explicit and "septic room" or "area" can refer to either a "dirty utility room" (which, incidentally, is not a "local poubelle"), or an operating theatre only used for treating septic disorders (opening up of an abcess for instance).However, this is more frequently referred to as "bloc septique".
If I were you, I would ask the client for more details or insert a footnote mentioning the two possible translations.

I guess, if you wanted something shorter, you could say : "septic procedure room" but still with the above mentioned footnote.

Example sentence(s):

agree  liz askew: Now I have got it. It just takes some of us longer, as I like to fully understand and look at the findings beforehand. A very good evening to you!

agree  Anne Schulz: same use in German: "septischer OP" and "aseptischer OP", but not in English where a "septic operation room" would cause some concern :-)

  -> Thank you for your confirmation... and the giggle! ;-)

agree  Tony M: Yes, it's that 'septic procedures' that makes all the difference! And I think that 'salle' is best rendered as 'theatre', unless there is some specific indication to the contrary.
