This is taken from a list of medical expenses covered by a private health insurance scheme:
...clinique, sanatorium, préventorium ou aérium,...
I have found 'sanatorium for delicate children' as a possible translation for 'préventorium' but was hoping for confirmation or another term.
Thanky |

| | English translation:quarantine facility | Explanation: While "preventorium" is the equivalent to the French "préventorium", it is not widely known. "Quarantine facility" might serve as a more easily understood expression. |

Reference information: As can be read on the Wikipedia: "A preventorium was an institution or building for patients infected with tuberculosis who did not yet have an active form of the disease. Popular in the early 20th century, preventoria were designed to isolate these patients from uninfected individuals as well as patients who showed outward symptoms."

I would leave 'preventorium' in as it's not exactly the same as a sanatorium and it seems to be standard wording in France. I know it's not very common in English, but I have found this Irish site:
the expression "institution" means a hospital, sanatorium, maternity home, convalescent home, preventorium, laboratory, clinic, health centre, first-aid station, dispensary or any similar institution:

Asker: Thanks for your reply. I found those references as well, I'm inclined to leave out Preventorium as I'm not sure they still exist, all references I've found are written in the past tense! I have already used sanatorium which I hope will cover it.
