French to English translations [PRO]
Medical - Medical (general) / obstetrics
French term or phrase: portée
Une patiente enceinte (38 SA) était hospitalisée pour colique nephritique; une indication de déclenchement était alors portée.

Is there something happening here to this triggering indication? "The triggering indication was then carried/converted/conducted/managed" doesn't make much sense to me.

Does any have any suggestion?
Thanks
roseh

As mentioned clearly by Gabrielle "they diagnosed grounds for triggering the baby's birth".

agree  Gabrielle Leyden: yup - porter un diagnostic = to make a diagnosis; using "porter" and lots of ellipses to mean that they diagnosed grounds for triggering the baby's birth

Explanation:
... this was considered an indication to induce labour.

In good medical English :-)

Do a websearch on "porter une indication" and it should be clear what is meant by this expression.
