French to English translations [PRO]
Medical - Medical (general) / histology | | French term or phrase: aurinfection mycosique | From a histology report on a skin biopsy:
"Absence de aurinfections mycosiques après coloration au PAS."
I can get the sense of this: PAS (Periodic Acid–Schiff) stain will show up infection with live fungi. But "aurinfection" does not seem to be a standard term in either French or English. Is there a specific term in English that I am missing, or would "infection" be the best translation here?
On a secondary note, I am wondering between "fungal" and "mycotic" as the better translation of 'mycosique'. |
