French term or phrase: évaluation du résultat par technique

I am translating an AFSSAPS document concerning the quality control of lab test results. It describes the various test results that are evaluated (bacteriology, biochem, gasometry, etc.).

I am not sure what is meant by the following sentence :

"Pour les analyses quantitatives, seule l'évaluation du résultat par technique est utilisée".

I have translated it as:

For the quantitative tests, only the evaluation of the result obtained by technique is used.

I am not happy with this translation!

Any ideas or advice would be greatly appreciated.
