French to English translations [PRO]
Medical - Medical (general) / tests
French term or phrase: prélèvement PK
This appears in a list of tests that will be carried out on patients in a clinical trial for a new drug to treat multiple myeloma. There no other 'context' to speak of, and I can't find anything that matches in the rest of the PIS.

PK can mean "protein kinase", but I can't see how that fits here. All suggestions are welcome!

PK sampling
Explanation:
This could be the EN abbreviation for 'pharmacokinetic' - pharmacocinétique in FR. Additional samplings of blood, urine and possibly other samples are necessary to determine the fate of the drug in the body (absorption, distribution, metabolism, excretion...). It would seem to make sense in the context of a clinical trial for a new drug.

pyruvate kinase

Explanation:
According to the Dictionary of Medicine of Svetolik P. Djordjević revised edition 2004, PK stands for "pyruvate kinase-Internal Medicine and Laboratory". pg 653.
I tried a Google search for "pyruvate kinase and myeloma". There is a connection, but the articles exceed my ability to understand. You may have better luck.
