This is a report about complications after the implantation of a medullary stimulator. (I am not sure that the complications are as a direct result of this, though).
The report states that some of the patients: '... ont récidivé une douleur mécanique encours de suivi...'
I think that this could mean 'had a relapse where they experienced pain due to the mechanical devices implanted', or it could mean 'had a relapse where they experienced functional pain in the spine ' (on motion?), as it goes on to say that there was concomitant degenerative discopathy shown in medical imaging. Neither of these explanations, however seem much good as a translation. (Also, I am not familiar with the use of 'ont récidivé une douleur ' used in this way, but I need to open another question for that). The patients that experienced this pain were then treated by being given posterior lumbar arthrodesis with posterior lumbar interbody fusion. Initially, several had severe pain in the lumbar region and one had more pain in the lower limbs. I think the spinal operations were carried out some time after the implantation of the medullary device.
