FOX-I/FOX-1

Explanation:
I am not at all sure about this, but there's the FOX-1 (gene coding for an RNA-binding protein), if it fits with the rest of your text.

There's also a scientist named Fox, if there's a citation of his work, could well be a ref. to her protocol...eg: Fox 1, superscript.

Dani I am adding a note, as a colleague has suggested this could be referring to a protocol developed, and \"named\", by the authors themselves. If that is the case there might be a descriptive reference (if this is indeed an acronym), in your text.

I ended up leaving it as is 'FOXI protocol' but really am not sure what it means as not one of the contexts is really right. But thank you so much for all your help :) much appreciated

Explanation:
A FOLFOX protocol exists for chemotherapy (particularly for colon cancer). Is there any further information on the patient's history?
