French to English translations [PRO] Tech/Engineering - Metallurgy / Casting / steel strip manufactureFrench term or phrase: bandes collées "des améliorations de qualité et de productivité, notamment dans le secteur des **bandes collées**". Could this be "bonded strips"?
Like my earlier question, this comes from a secondary steel processor's annual report. He engages in the manufacture of steel wire and rod, as well as metal banding tape. I've searched Eurodicautom and conducted some web searches, but without turning anything up. I really need someone who knows their way round a steel factory, please!
Clarification request(s) and response IanDhu : 3:08pm Sep 16, 2005: Client's term - The client, the same one as for "marge sur matière", intimates that "pour les bandes, nous préférons : 'wire bands'". I'd still like to satisfy myself as to what "bandes collées" actually refers to, before I close this item.IanDhu : 4:03pm Sep 16, 2005: Thank you. - Thank you, Allan. I have just had an e-mail back from the end client, who says "wire bands", but I think he undoubtedly means "bonded wire bands". I appreciate your help.
